My Name is Taeya.
It's pronounced Tay-a! I'm based out of Maple Ridge, which is a small town an hour outside of Vancouver BC. My photography services focus mainly on Weddings & Elopements, Empowerment Boudoir, Couples, and Branding.
I pride myself on giving my clients a safe space to authentically be themselves, so that I may capture their beautiful story in a way that feels aligned with who they are. Diversity and acceptance are qualities I value and exude in both my personal and business life. Although we were Taeya’s first wedding I never had a worry she was going to do an amazing job. She had done both our engagement photos and my boudoir photos previously and all were exactly what I was looking for. Not only do her photos capture a moment perfectly she is also very professional and passionate about what she does. She makes you feel very comfortable in front on the camera and is always prepared. Before the wedding we sat down and talked about exactly what I was looking for so on the day I never worried about her missing a moment I wanted. Looking at her work after the wedding I was blown away as not only did she take absolutely beautiful photos of my husband and I but also all of our guests. When we hear the word empowerment we think of strength, confidence, intelligence, and beauty. When I hear the word boudoir, the first thing I imagine is a woman on a bed in lingerie with her booty up in the air. The word boudoir is limiting and it often has a negative connotation surrounding it. Now, there's nothing wrong with lingerie or a poppin' booty on a bed, I fuckin' love it, but I believe that boudoir can be more than that. Empowerment sessions allow us to break down societal stigmas through art and give us more room to be natural.
During Empowerment Sessions I focus more on allowing you to have quiet moments of reflection where you can start healing your relationship with your body; learning to forgive it, embrace it, connect with it. I give you a safe space to sit with your insecurities and begin the process of finding peace with them. I guide you through movement that feels comfortable and I invite you to put aside the fears of being imperfect, to capture your true self in a way that reflects your inner beauty, outwardly.
